# Creating and Managing SmartLabels

## Introduction

This chapter describes how to view, create, edit, and delete a SmartLabel.

## Viewing SmartLabels

The **SmartLabel Management** page (Left menu > SmartLabels icon) displays information about existing SmartLabels.

![smartlabels_mainpage_28.0.png](https://lucidum.cloud/docs/smartlabels_mainpage_28.0.png)

- **Tabs**. The SmartLabels page includes three tabs:
  - **Lucidum SmartLabels** tab. Lucidum includes pre-built SmartLabels, called [Value-Oriented SmartLabels](https://lucidum.io/docs/overview-of-value-oriented-smartlabels/ ‎) or VOSLs. You can find these VOSLs under the Lucidum SmartLabels tab. ***VOSLs are read-only. You can use them in queries but cannot edit them.***
  - **My SmartLabels tab**. When you create SmartLabels, the SmartLabels appear in the My SmartLabels tab. You can use these SmartLabels in queries and can edit them, delete them, or assign them to MetaBlocks.
  - **All SmartLabels tab**. When your and your team-mates create SmartLabels, the SmartLabels appear in the All SmartLabels tab.***Only accounts of type Admin or Lucidum Support can edit, delete and add these queries to MetaBlocks. All other accounts can edit, delete and add to MetaBlocks only queries they created**.*
- ***Search***. Each tab includes a search icon (magnifying glass) in the upper right corner. From this field, you can search all text fields in all SmartLabels in the tab. After a search, only SmartLabels that include the Search term appear in the tab.
- ***Columns***. Each tab includes a columns icon (three columns) in the upper right corner. Clicking on the icon displays a modal page where you can select and deselect columns to appear in each tab.
- ***Export/Import***. Each tab includes an export icon (down arrow) or import icon (up arrow) in the upper right corner. for details on exporting and importing SmartLabels, see [Exporting and Importing SmartLabels](https://lucidum.io/docs/exporting-and-importing-smartlabels/).

## Viewing SmartLabels for Individual Assets or Users

You can view a list of all SmartLabels that have been populated for an asset or user and the values for each SmartLabel.

To do this, see the section on [Viewing Data from SmartLabels](https://lucidum.io/docs/viewing-details-about-individual-assets-users-or-vulnerabilities/#viewing_data_from_smartlabels).

## Creating a SmartLabel

There are multiple ways to create a SmartLabel:

- From [the SmartLabel Management page](https://lucidum.io/docs/creating-and-managing-smart-labels#creating_a_smart_label_in_the_smart_label_management_page)
- From the [Query Builder](https://lucidum.io/docs/creating-and-managing-smart-labels#creating_a_smartlabel_in_the_query_builder)
- [Cloning](https://lucidum.io/docs/creating-and-managing-smart-labels#cloning_a_smartlabel) an existing SmartLabel
- [Exporting](https://lucidum.io/docs/creating-and-managing-smart-labels#exporting_a_smartlabel) and [importing](https://lucidum.io/docs/creating-and-managing-smart-labels#importing_a_smartlabel) an existing SmartLabel
