We seek an accomplished Software Development Engineer Lead with experience and passion in multiple environments, architecture, software, and system engineering. The successful candidate will assist with the development of cloud infrastructure tools and components, relying heavily upon machine learning and data analysis. The successful candidate will have true technical depth, business acumen, and passionately drive technical product directions.

Examples of responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data workflows that support the Lucidum platform
  • Be a technical leader and manager of a team as we grow
  • Comfortable working in new problem spaces with varying amounts of definition
  • Develop high-quality, maintainable code
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams, including customer success, UI/UX, and executive leadership
  • Experience researching, investigating, debugging, and solving complex coding problems/errors and data discrepancies
  • Ownership of the responsible projects and tasks, striving to build an enterprise product with high standards

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science required; advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in the software product industry in architecture and software development roles
  • Previous cloud infrastructure knowledge is preferred (AWS, or Azure, or GCP)
  • Knowledge of common Linux systems and network commands such as Ubuntu or RedHat
  • Strong programming skills in Python (preferred) or other languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++)
  • Experience in RESTful API services, including API query creation, API response processing, API interface design, API building/development, and API management
  • Experience in software testing, including API integration testing and code unit testing
  • Experience in common CI/CD and DevOps tools, including GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, and Docker
  • Knowledge in workflow scheduling/orchestration tools such as Airflow
  • Experience in modern database/storage technologies and ETL development, such as MongoDB and MySQL
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills, able to compile good technical documents for internal software engineers and non-technical guides for outside customers
